Written in the first person of a teenager going through the grieving of losing her older brother, her and her family go to a cottage by the sea. As thoughts of freedom kick in looking at the waves she wished that the sea would just bring her down under its waves. But soon the tables turn as an evil spirit is soundly waiting for them. An amazing book, it made me feel like I was glued to the cover as I never put it down. Really enjoyable and gave me a few scares along the way. Would definately recommend and will give out this book as a recommendation any day of the week.

I liked the book “Lily’s Monster” because I found the idea of 1 dead little girl who is a ghost being able to control Holly’s whole family one at a time. It was frightening how each of the characters went insane in their own ways. My favourite character was probably Jack (before he got controlled by Lily) because he was making a decent team with Holly to try to evacuate. I was surprised when I found out that the Kryss’sa’nikt wasn’t just a monster that resembled death, but also was a version of Lily’s dead family telling her to meet them in a traumatic way.
