Born into a world on fire, Godling Hekate has never known safety. Hekate is a wonderful novel that I love because it is something that you can relate closely to. In the book Hekate feels lost and saddened at the loss of her parents and I believe that we can all feel lost sometimes and we just need someone like Thanatos who helps guide her through all of her stresses and shows her how great the world can be and it doesn’t only have bad sides. My favourite character was Styx because even though she betrayed Hekate’s parents all she wanted to do was be a good mother to her and take care of her even with the burden of her secrets. This is relatable because anyone that loves somebody would do anything to keep them safe. Even if it means keeping secrets from them.
I really liked Hekate by Nikita Gill. I thought the way it was written was unique, and I think that is good because it makes it a quick and easy read. I think Hekate is my favourite character because she is very well written. I think this book really portrayed what the Greeks thought about women. I definitely recommend this to someone who needs a quick and easy read, as well as being prepared to stay up all night because you want to know what happens next!
I think Hekate by Nikita Gill is a brilliant book based on Greek mythology. I like how it is written in verse, although it can get a bit confusing, I think it flows nicely, and it is very well written. I think the beginning was very sad and the elements of loss in this book really make the reader engaged. My favourite character is Thanatos, because he’s kind and acts as a protector, rescuer and friend to Hekate. I also like how Hekate is a strong, determined and fearless character despite losing so much, and I think it was interesting to see from the perspective of someone like her. I think I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mythology.
This is my book report about Hekate. I really enjoyed this book because I am obsessed with Greek mythology and it was fun to read a new one in such a unique writing style. I could see this as a very popular film, but it would require a lot of CGI. my favourite part was when she turned that woman into a silver hound. The ending didn’t really surprise me because in every Greek myth, someone goes ahead and betrays Zeus in the end!
‘Hekate’ is a fascinating book based on Greek mythology. What I liked the most about the book is how strong and fearless the main character, Hekate was knowing how strong and more powerful her relatives and cousins were than her. When I started reading the book, I wasn’t sure that I would like that the novel is written in verse and the few chapters written in paragraphs helped dictate the pace of the book. And I liked how Hekate was so determined to find out what her actual power was as a goddess and why even the most powerful gods were still scared by her.
