I found Find me after an amazing book, the start reels you in. Its plays with themes of epilepsy and brain diseases creating a liminal space. Reading the build up to the end made me feel like someone was watching me , it was very atmospheric and vivid. Although I feel like the character growth was kind of postponed by Chui and created tension between Farah and Kyle. It captures Kyle’s fear really well, this was a wonderful book overall thankyou very much A.Connors!

I found the book “Find Me After” quite thrilling, as my first Southern School Book Award. It had everything I wanted: comedy, Romance, and a dash of Horror. I just couldn’t put it down. It also made me understand how epilepsy can really effect some people, like Kyle, and changed how I talk about it. This book is pure excitement to read and I would thoroughly recommend the book to people that enjoy emotional rollercoasters and being jolted back in your seat! The plot was fantastic furthermore the twists and cliff hangers were something out of this world. HAVE TO READ!

I really loved the book Find Me After, it was like no other book I’ve read. It gives us the idea of being in the mind of someone with epilepsy, Kyle is a relatable character, yet almost none of us can empathise the feeling of handling epilepsy. Adam Conners managed to turn a serious subject into a fantasy world, filled with darkness, somewhere someone can call a safe place. In the Stillness, Kyle finds hope and warmth in a cold dark place, this is a metaphor to the people who have illnesses like epilepsy or cancer, that they can still find joy and warmth in the darkness of their symptoms. This book cured my book-block, although it was hard to start in the beginning, once I was introduced to Farah, and Chiu, soon I was finding every reason to read Find Me After. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a mix of sci-fi, romance, and just all-in-all great books!

I really liked Find me after. It had the perfect amount of horror, comedy and romance and I just couldn’t put it down. I really like how it was from the perspective of someone with epilepsy because it really adds to the ‘alternate reality’ factor. It took me a only a few chapters until I was really hooked on the storyline which is one of the reasons I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I was so into the book that I kept thinking about what would happen if I was in Kyle’s situation. My favourite part of the book was when we are first introduced to Chiu because he is my favourite character. He is my favourite character because he is so vibrant and exciting. I would definitely recommend this book.

I loved Find Me After! It was really engaging and very addictive to read. I just couldn’t put it down! I really enjoyed the sci-fi element and the parallel universe. There was a little bit of a horror element added it as well. I also like how the author explains what Kyle really feels about and how he lives with epilepsy. My favourite character is Kyle because he is really brave. Even though he is scared he still chose to leave his house and with Farrah by his side he does things he never thought he would do. It is a little gory at times so I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t like gory things. I like how the book ended on a cliff hanger but I really wanted to know more about what happens after. Overall I would definitely recommend this book if you like sci-fi, horror and romance!

I ADORED this book. The science made me think, I loved the characters, and the philosophy was glorious. It was, at times, gorier than I expected, but I just could not put it down. The mix between exploration into consciousness, and fast paced action was truly addictive; it was the best book I’d read in quite some time.

At first, I struggled to get into Find Me After, but by the end I couldn’t put the book down. The plot was unique and unlike anything I’ve read before, so Find Me After didn’t remind me of anything. I particularly liked the character of Chiu as he stood out in my reading. The journey flowed and felt natural in Farah, Kyle and Chiu’s travel to London and their interactions with other characters felt thought out. I enjoyed the sense of normality with UNO and the story being set so nearby. Connor’s descriptions worked well to the point I felt Kyle’s fear. I only really disliked parts where it became confusing to understand. The ending was unpredictable and unexpected and is why I enjoyed Find Me After.

Find me after was a very exciting and mysterious read. I loved the scientific part to the book as concepts became easier to understand as the book went on. The book was filled with so much emotion that it became hard to know how I felt about Find me after. However, after reading all 42 chapters, I can now confidently recommend this book to anybody that enjoys adventure and sci-fi books. I would rate it a solid 9/10.

Find me after was well written and a great read! It’s a book that I wouldn’t typically pick up but I’m glad I did. It really made me think about Life in a way that I didn’t think I would ever do . I really liked how the story was mysterious and emotional, and it made me care about the characters. I thought the idea of the Stillness was really cool and different, and the ending was sad but also hopeful. It’s one of those books that makes you think even after you’ve finished it.

Find me after. From the beginning I started reading, it was intriguing. It is about a reality between life and death after a boy goes into an epileptic fit. It made me more interested about what the reality may be like and cool that it has accuracy from the author Adam Conners who has experienced epilepsy himself. The books has varying characters which make the story fun and enjoyable to read. I really recommend this book!

I really liked Find me after. The action mixed with horror really created a tense feeling throughout the book which kept you wondering what’s going to happen next. When the part of the book was between life and death for the main characters it kept me hooked, not wanting to put the book down. The characters were very well created to be relatable and likeable. Really good book; it had a great romance between Kyle and Farah, and some good plot turns when they found out that Jonah had epilepsy so he would keep on coming back. The end was really good because when they were going in through the machine they kept it tense so you wouldn’t know what would happen next.

WOW! This book was truly amazing, from the very first page it had me gripped and I couldn’t look away. I love how the author used his own personal experiences with epilepsy to help us know how Callum feels and reacts when he has an epileptic seizure. My favourite part has to be when Callum stabs Tongue and it really made the book more dramatic towards the end. I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone that likes reading books with a variety of genres.

Find me after is fascinating book, I enjoyed the mix of romance, fantasy and terror. I felt that I really understood the characters, especially Kyle and now I know more about what it is like to have epilepsy. The idea of the stillness amazes me, it is so creative and I feel like I want to investigate more. I loved the adventure they went on since it was risky to go outside but they still faced the challenge after some doubt. Also meeting the other characters like Chiu who has so much knowledge about the stillness and Farah who is essential; without her the boys might not have got so far. Overall, I really enjoyed Find me after and would recommend to everyone

Find Me After was an amazing book that, despite initially struggling to get into, I really enjoyed. It has a great mix of captivating genres, like fantasy, dystopia and some romance, too, that really helped to blend a unique and tense story. As well as this, I loved how the author used his own real – life experiences to put the struggles of epilepsy into perspective, and how as the story continues, we see Kyle learn that his own epilepsy doesn’t define him, or the dreams he has for the future. One of my favourite scenes in the book was at the end, when Kyle decides to leave the Stillness. This is because, throughout the story, he talks about his struggle with breaking out of routine, and not knowing exactly what’ll happen next- but by leaving the stillness, we see how he accepts the unknown instead of fearing away from it- which is a really valuable lesson to be learnt.
Overall, Find Me After is a unique and adventurous story, and one I’m sure will end up being one of my favourite SBBA books.

“Find Me After” is a unique and different idea on some very abstract concepts, such as death and the mind. I love the scientific element to back up this adaptation of near-death, which adds yet another layer of depth to the book. There was some really great character development for the main characters, and the growing love between Farah and Kyle. The ending was great, a masterpiece of action writing, but it was the most anticlimactic end I have ever read, I couldn’t believe that was the final chapter. Yes, some questions are better left unanswered, but leaving out whether they survive or not isn’t one of them. You can’t make a sequel out of this because there is not enough cut off of the ending. On that, it fed more questions in than you could answer. What part of Jonah’s body is still alive after 25 Stillness years? Does Kyle make it out alive? Does he remember the Stillness, the list goes on. All in all, great read, questions unanswered, but he couldn’t possibly make a sequel to answer the questions from this.

I loved this book to pieces! It had such a good storyline and gave me a new understanding and empathy for epilepsy and epileptic people. My favourite things about this book is the wonderful mix of action, friendship and a bit of romance between Farah and Kyle. My favourite part of the book was when Ose gets the MRI working and manages to get Kyle, Farah and Chui on it as well as when they meet the old lady in London as she was very sweet. This book was very good I just could not put it down.

I really enjoyed this book due to its compelling theory of the realm called The Stillness, referring to the literal state between life and death. I specifically enjoyed the way in which the author changes pace throughout the book, which evokes a sense of horror and keeps the reader engaged. Themes of separation and complexity are run throughout the story; however, I believe this book would be even better if the main character Kyle had a closer relationship with his mother. This would build a greater sense of pathos as finding a way back to each other would create an even greater emotional tension resulting in a more heartfelt story.

I found that this book had just the perfect mix of mystery, romance and horror. All the characters were written so incredibly, giving such a backstory, especially I loved how he went into Farah nearly dying and nearly dying in this book. I think personally he could have gone into this even more, especially before she starts having the symptoms in the book, so going into how she felt the first time and her experiences with cancer. But that bit I think was written extremely well, I also liked how Chui is shown to have both elements of his real age, but also his intelligence portrays how long he has been in the stillness. The cliffhanger at the end was a little frustrating, just because I wanted to know for certain whether he had got back to the real world. I really think that there should be a sequel written just because of how good this one was, and I think he could go into how he tries to get his memory back from the silence, or maybe Farah forgot, and he needs to try to make her remember, I think that that would be amazing. I would say my overall favourite part of the book was the element of how it was like “God’s experiment” and how the special thing about us is that we know that we are going to die someday. I really wish that I had come up with that because it is an extremely well thought out plot line and it really adds a lot to the story. I think that the only thing I would have liked to see from this book was less of a cliffhanger, but apart from that, this book was astounding, and I am very excited to read more books by him.

This book was a really interesting book. I liked the book because the way the author put things into wonder because there is different reality and you question what is going to happen next and if they would survive the stillness. Another reason I like it is how they don’t stop because then they would be trapped so it is that resilience for not giving up and to keep on moving. The characters I admire for their personal individual skills is: Kyle; as soon as he got into the stillness he was panicking that he would never get out of there and Farah kind of slapped some sense into him and then Kyle started to realise that he knows he is close to death so he would rather go and try and reach the end and die with knowing that he tried then rather than sitting in a hospital dying. The thing that really got my attention is that Jonah had the same condition as Kyle (epilepsy) and he wants to rule the stillness. There are some romantic elements in the book like how Farah and Kyle start warming up to each other so that is what I personally think, because any time Kyle wants to talk to Farah, Farah shuts him down. Overall I really liked this book and I recommend it to others

This book wow! It had me right from the start. What could you possibly want more from a book? the use of description absolutely blew me away. Every single scene I could picture clearly in my head it almost felt like I was in their shoes, traveling and fighting with them every step of the way. I also loved the plot; the way the author would throw a problem in randomly edged me on to read more. The cliffhanger at the end of the book almost made me want him to write another book because I did not get to find out if they got back to the real world from the stillness. My favourite character was Chiu a boy in year 8 who fell off a roof into a shed and woke up in the stillness, camping in the library until he eventually meets Farah and Kyle in the Hospital. My favourite scene was the fighting scene near the end when Kyle and his fiends had to kill each one of of Jonah’s gang one by one to get out of the stillness and return to the real world.

This book was incredible to read. It had me hooked on to it from the start of the book, the very first page wanted me to never put the book down. It helped me too understand what having epilepsy feels like, which I did not know a lot about before reading the book. My favourite part of the book was when the murdering action took place and Kyle murdered Tongue as it was a very dramatic part of the book . I felt most empathetic for Farah as she thought that her brain tumor had been cured ages ago, however the cure didn’t work properly. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in finding more out about epileptic seizures or epilepsy in general. Overall I really enjoyed this book.

This is my favourite book so far! It is about a boy who gets trapped in a world for people between life and death. The characters were written brilliantly and the story was so thrilling I struggled to put it down. It was actually quite scary because people don’t know what happens in a state of unconsciousness – the fear of not knowing was the reason why it was so gripping. Honestly, I would’ve liked to find out what happened to the characters at the end though, but it was still really good. Fantasy/dystopia lovers would definitely enjoy this book.

Right from the beginning “Find me after” was thrilling and captivating. The plot was moving; suspense and tension were constantly built. The story line was incredible and made me wonder if there is an afterlife or in between world. Whilst having a thrilling plot, the story is told by the main character, Kyle, who is quite shy in the ‘normal’ world and never really leaves his house. He also has epilepsy. Kyle shares the struggles of it and helps you learn about people who have epilepsy. Overall, I really enjoyed reading “Find me after” as it is well written and has a thrilling plot. I definitely recommend it.

I thought this book was really smart and interesting. I never really thought about death and what happens when we aren’t dead but we also aren’t so conscious so when I first read it I was surprised about the world and how much I could visualise the setting the author portrays. Also THAT CLIFFHANGER?!?!! Like I need to know so badly what happens – like will they see each other again or will they just forget everything and it just goes back to normal, I have too many questions. But over all I thought it was really good and would 100% read a 2nd book.

Find Me After was a really touching book. It touches on the idea of an alternate reality and romance. Personally my favourite part was when Kyle meets Farah and the time before they leave the hospital. I like it because I could imagine myself in that situation. I also like it because of the contrast between the beginning and the end. Through out the book the boundaries between them disappear and they become much closer. You can tell that Adam Connors put a lot of effort into the book and that it is really well written. I highly recommend this book because it teaches you about the struggles of epilepsy and teen romance.

My thoughts after reading ‘Find Me After’ By Adam Conners. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the way the book portraited the stillness’s unnerving atmosphere and the constant threat of death kept me right on the edge of my seat. I also enjoyed the philosophical aspect of the book, the characters’ endless questioning of their surroundings kept me completely hooked. I also love how we see Kyle change through out the book, his attitude towards the stillness and life show us resilience in the darkest of times. I highly recommend this book to curious people and philosophical questioners.

I really loved this book. There were so many tiny details that added up in the end, which left your heart racing until you knew it was safe. I thought the setting being in an in-between world was a great idea because it’s unusual and exciting. The fact that the main character had epilepsy made me understand what it’s like to struggle with something like that and it made Kyle much more interesting. I love all the characters because they were all so different and all added to the storyline. There were a lot of unexpected twist at each page. It’s got a thrill to it. I would have liked for it to have a little bit more at the end to see what happened to Farah and Chiu but overall it was a really amazing book.

Find Me After is one of my favourite books I’ve read so far. I loved the way that the booked moved me and I am not a very emotional person but this book didn’t seem to care about that and left me wanting more. I learnt a lot about how people all over the world live with epilepsy and I am glad that the author got to share that with us. I loved how Kyle grew throughout the book and started to trust himself more and more. I also loved the bit where Ose came to help Kyle because I thought it showed how well people can change. However I didn’t like the ending because I hate cliff-hangers. I really hope there will be a sequel because I can’t wait to find out what happens next!

I absolutely loved the close dynamic between the main trio and how they have such a deep admiration for one and another, never giving up on each other. Overall, an amazing book and would recommend this to anyone who loves reading enthralling speculative YA thrillers.

This book was definitely something, I feel like I was a bit terrified myself while reading this but I just couldn’t put it down!
This is a book about a person with epilepsy who got drawn into another universe/idea while his crush from the “real” world was also there . It’s a story of slight romance, death and thrill, I would recommend it to romantasy and thriller fans due to the amazing plot.
One thing I thought was that maybe it wasn’t the monsters we ran away from, maybe it was them.

Find me after is a powerful story that explores the hidden depths of epilepsy. The way Kyle and Farah are portrayed in the book as their romance blossoms from at first being strong friends to even more than that. This book is a mix of horror, dystopian and romance and fantasy making it a perfect combination. I loved the way that Kyle, Farah and Chiu didn’t quite know if they were ever going to make it out alive. This book has really opened up my mind to epilepsy and the unlimited possibilities that can happen. I think that although it took me a minute to get into the flow of the book it still had me gripped.

I also loved the alternative reality and the fact they were running out of time made it gripping and fast paced. Although it is quite sad my favourite scene was when Farah and Kyle say goodbye because they won’t remember each other. In my personal opinion, this was probably the best book I have read this year. ‘Find Me After’ encapsulates some of the some the best factors of tension, fear and pain that I have ever seen in a book. I felt incredibly invested in the characters, and the writing painted a vivid, yet somehow terrifyingly bleak picture in my mind. I couldn’t stop thinking about this book, even after I had finished. The ending in particular was a real masterpiece. The cliff hanger at the very end, combined with the vibrant, harrowing descriptions of the final scene at the hospital, left me on edge. I don’t think I would want a sequel, but only because I feel it would ruin the lyrical artwork that is the ending – truly a masterclass in literature

Find Me After was a book that emotionally broke me. The way that the author makes you feel like you know what epilepsy is and how you can be transported into the world just by reading the first page. Something I love the most about this book is how it’s hooking me in; most books with a first chapter this good slowly start to lose the excitement but A. Connors didn’t have this issue. Every time I pick up the book I always feel like I never put it down. I love it when books use the same start of a chapter that they did in the beginning as at the end and unlike most other attempts didn’t make it feel cheesy or repetitive. Kyle as a main character was so well written, you immediately like him but not in that forced way. He’s funny, relatable and everything in between. I know this is controversial but Farah I didn’t particularly like until toward the end, she just gave me bad vibes, unlike Chiu who the first chapter I met him in, I knew he was going to be my favourite. And he was, bar Jonah who really moves the book along.

This book surprised me. The plot was like no other I had ever read, the mix of action, dystopia and romance was exhilarating. I also loved Chiu, I loved how he was some sort of child genius that could think up some wild ideas and plans! Not only was it an adventure, it also had dark hints of horror that left a shiver on my spine. If you like eerie adventures, then this is your book.

This is now my new favourite book. All the genres really stick the book together, making the image of a world that was truly falling apart. The description of Kyle’s epilepsy was very powerful and touching as it gave me a different perspective of how he struggles. I feel that the detail in the relationship between Farah and Kyle, is a tender and slow burn romance, which brings a sparkling tension between them. I recommend this book 100%.

Find me after was an unputdownable adventure that taught me an important lesson about epilepsy. The character of Kyle was very vivid for me and the plot was gripping because of how the writing was fast paced and very descriptive. I really enjoyed the idea of the stillness and how they were running out of time. I found the ending tense and quite sad so I’m hoping there will be a sequel because I have never read a book with so many themes and genres going on at once! I have already recommended this book to a friend (who also loves fantasy and romance) and she read it in only 4 sittings!

Find me after was a great book, it had great descriptions of how the characters really felt deep down mainly in the perspective of Kyle. Kyle was slightly wimpy at the start of the book but his confidence grew through the book because of Farah and the world he was in. The world, from the description from the book, was a scary place where the days were short and you shouldn’t go out at night because terrible things would happen to you and change you. This world was brutal where people that were in between life and death lived and when they were dying they would have strange things happening to them – for example they had eyeballs grow on their body and they would have extra fingers grow on their hands and the only way to survive was to cut them off. However I thought that the ending was a bit abrupt and rushed because it seemed to me that it all happened very quickly and was less detailed than the rest the book, however the story was a great one and it felt like it meant something to the author and was described well.

I really enjoyed this book. The personal touches from the author about his own experiences with epilepsy made the book feel so much more real and really put epilepsy in perspective for me. I wouldn’t have been able to put it down if I wanted to. The book took me through so many different emotions with the characters as they went through the story overcoming their problems and facing them. I loved watching Kyle and Farah’s romance grow as they put aside social statuses from the real world and learned about each other. My favourite part was definitely the end, the cliff-hanger was perfect, I would die to know what happened when they got back to the real world. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy, horror or romance.

I really liked this book. It showed a good perspective from a person with epilepsy, showing that people with epilepsy can live in their own world. I also liked that the adventure and thrill in the book was able to overlap with romance. I would recommend this book for young teenagers, truly a pleasure to read.

I really liked this book because it had lots of action but at the same time it had lots of interesting philosophical foundations and let me explore the world of epilepsy and how it feels after waking up from a seizure. This book kept me hooked and I couldn’t put it down. I loved the plot and the twists and while the ending was very punchy and gripping, I still really want to know if they made it, so if a second book does come out, I’ll be very excited to read it. Additionally, I think it really benefited the book that there were more characters than just Kyle and Farah, deepening the plot and making the book even harder to put down. I would recommend this to anyone ages 12 and above as I feel like everyone has a lot to learn from this novel.

This book is truly amazing, because it really gets your mind ticking about what happens if you are having a epileptic seizure or are even just knocked out, this is a question I ask myself all the time so this really hit home with what I want in a book. I really liked the part when they met the little boy Chui who had read a whole library worth of books! The only thing that bugged me was the ending, it was left on a cliff hanger which could be quite irritating if you want to see what happens especially if there is not a second book but I have to admit it did spark your curiosity. For me this book would be perfect for 12 to 15 year olds because it has action and even romance. This book is definitely up there with some of my favourites and I would definitely recommend it.

The selection of genres: Fantasy, romance and horror are something I look for in a book separately and I found it all in one book! I love the character of Farah as she is caring and always on the look out for danger which I think I would be like in this scenario. I am looking forward to seeing what the author writes next.

Gripping to put it frankly, Find me after had me from the start. I loved the fact the author used epilepsy to push the “alternate world” into the story; it did take me some time to get into it but once I was in, there was no going back. I found it was great how the characters were portrayed and I believe that the storyline was executed to perfection. My favourite part was the ending, the cliff-hanger had me on edge wanting to know what happened next. I would definitely recommend this book and even read it again myself.

I thought that this book would be seizures and hospital visits, but I now understand that this is a rough fictional experience of a Epileptic child. This helped me understand more about people with epilepsy and how society is just starting to understand them and there is still more to explore. The main character Kyle meets his friend in the unknown land, and they journey together, which shows us that anything is possible, even if you’re with “an atheist, a Muslim and an Asian” in an unknown world with someone after you.

Find Me After is well written, and I like how the writer uses his own experience to really immerse the reader in the details. I also think that the ending was a bit abrupt, and there were gaps in a few places, but not enough for another book, so it does keep the reader thinking, even after it was finished. It describes feelings and emotions well, and poses questions like ‘If this world did exist, what is It?’. The book is describes the bleakness of the Stillness in a spine-chilling way, and also is very well imagined, with a world which only works with things people have ideas of. All in all it is a good book and I would recommend it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The mix of horror, romance and fantasy makes it impossible to put down. The book took me through a rollercoaster of emotions, with some hair – raising moments, as well as sad moments. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend, who enjoys reading similar genres to me.

This book was really engaging because it goes into detail about how Kyle feels and how he is struggling in the real world. My favourite part is when they are about to go into the machine and they do not know what is going to happen next. It is very immersive and make you feel like you are one of the characters going through the process that they are going through in the story. It got me reading it every day and I can’t wait to see what happens next in the book. This is probably ages for 12-13 years old and covers a variety of genres. I would like to what his next books are going to be and read them!

Wow. This book was everything I had wanted in a book, combined with everything I didn’t even know I wanted. Furthermore it really helped me to understand what it’s like to have epilepsy (while maybe without the Stillness,) which was something I didn’t know much about. The plot is also amazing, and the twists and turns were some of the most unexpected I’ve ever read.
